Plettenberg Bay

After 6 weeks in Stellenbosch, Lance and I traveled to Plett where Lances 92 year old oupa (granddad) lives. The drive was long (6 hours), but very beautiful. We saw ostriches, stopped for the most delicious pies and even saw a whale in the distance while driving through Mossel Bay.

We arrived later that afternoon, unpacked our stuff and had dinner with Lances oupa who was very happy to see us. His apartment is on the 4th floor and looks out over the ocean. The view from his balcony is stunning and looks different every day.

We were meant to stay for three weeks, but only 5 days later we received an email from a lodge asking for an interview, so we booked our flights to Johannesburg and had to leave Plett after a week. Even though our stay was short we had a great time, walking along the beach, fishing, prawning, for boat rides through the lagoon and had amazing dinners.

On Wednesday the third of July we drove to George, about an hours drive and flew back to Johannesburg where we had sorted out a rental car to get us to the game reserve for our job interview.
